For premium projects where excellent sound absorption is required along with minimum weight, we offer Nankarrow GeoFill-Carbon™ polyester wadding acoustic rolls and boards. These sheets are created from natural polyester fibers reinforced with carbon. These are known for their durability and reliable performance. Nankarrow GeoFill™ is used as backing material for drop ceilings, walls, and floors in premium recording studios, offices, and in the loudspeaker building industry.
GeoFill™ is made from natural polyester fiber thermally bonded reinforced with carbon to provide both rigidity and porosity required for broadband acoustic absorption. Due to no chemicals being used during manufacture, they are naturally fire resistant. These high performance acoustic polyester insulation batts help with reducing unwanted noise transfer through walls & ceilings to create quieter living spaces, for higher noise level situations, particularly suitable for media rooms or between floors. The 2000GSM variants have an NRC rating of NRC0.95
Polyester is a safe, non toxic, allergy friendly, light weight material that has high tensile strenth, robsutness & is unaffected by moisture. Nankarrow polyester batts are itch free, contain no Formaldehdye Binders, require no protective clothing to install, making them a safe insulation option for you & your family. Polyester Acoustic Insulation Batts also have a Zero Ozone Depleting (ODP) rating, contain negligible Volatile Organic Compunds (VOC’s) and 80% of the fibers that go into these polyester batts are recycled from plastic bags & other packaging materials, so they are safer for the planet too. GeoFill also meets the ASTM E84 standard for fire safety.

Nankarrow GeoFill-Carbon™ Density for Acoustic Applications:
While choosing an acoustic absorber, it is important to get the most linear absorption curve. This helps create a natural sounding acoustic environment. Based on air flow resistivity values, we recommend the following thickness of GeoFill for your acoustic panels
- For 2″ to 4″ thickness use GeoFill-Carbon 40 kg/m3 (GFR 14200 Pa. s/m²)
- for 6″ to 8″ thickness use GeoFill-Carbon 20 kg/m3 (Air flow resistivity 9900 Pa. s/m²)
- for 10″ and more thickness use GeoFill-Carbon 10kg/m3 (Air flow resistivity 6200 Pa. s/m²)
