Product Description

Nankarrow ProFlat™ acoustic foam is made of Melamine and is an excellent acoustic absorber. It reduces noise and resonance enormously within a room (or a hall) and ensures a quiet surrounding. Also the maximum fire protection in this building material class, is especially to be pointed out – as foam made of Melamine meets the important DIN standard Din4102 B1 = Class 1 product (fire resistant) and thus can be applied virtually in any industry.

The reduced oxidation and physical resiliency of Nankarrow ProFlat™.  makes it appropriate for use in classrooms, nightclubs, studios and more where physical contact with the product might occur or where the environment is less than ideal. In these cases, there’s simply no better product choice than Nankarrow ProFlat™. Competing products formulations can lead to extreme oxidation under less-than-ideal conditions, This will NOT happen with NanKarrow ProFlat™. We guarantee it.

What others are saying

  1. Great panels for invisible acoustics

    Sushant Bhatnagar

I was recommended these by a colleague in Google who mentioned they have them in almost all their conference rooms. Extremely good at improving my home-office call quality on Microsoft Teams.

Bought quite a few acoustic treatment foams for my interior projects. This time I had to deal with a high living room ceiling (too much resonance in the room, unpleasant, tiring conversations etc …). The part was new and I needed white panels that were light enough to stick on a gypsum ceiling. These are perfect from this point of view. And I got the desired effect (I treated a little more than half of the surface). My carpenter fixed them using Fevicol SR.
Overall: one of the only truly white acoustic foam, made in germany, unbeatable for the price; does the job!

    Works like magic

    Komal Gupta

I have minimum furniture in my office conference room and echo and acoustic comfort was terrible especially during zoom calls. I glued 8 pieces of 75mm (3inch) on the ceiling and the impact was unbelievable. The room is quieter, acoustic comfort much better, no echo even while watching movies. Highly recommended product.

    Surprisingly effective

    Kaushal Doshi

I needed something to absorb reflections in my bedroom-studio and I was thrilled to hear how this product reduced the frequency reflections to great extent. The pricing was a little higher to what I expected, but it’s worth it.

  7. Good Performance

Treated our conference room ceiling with a few sets of these panels. Our reverberation problem has now completely stopped. Also they were really easy to install.

All NanKarrow acoustic foam products have been specially engineered to:

  • Maximize acoustical performance
  • Maximize longevity
  • Maximize flame retardancy
  • Maximize aesthetics

Non-Nankarrow ”poly-” foams (can be polyesters, polyethers, polyurethanes, etc.) usually:

  • Have inferior acoustical performance
  • ”Crumble” or otherwise deteriorate over time
  • Are much more flammable
  • Aren’t as aesthetically pleasing

Acoustical Performance

The acoustical characteristics of foams are dependent on many factors. The more important of these are density and surface area. Nankarrow research engineers strive to maximize these two factors in all our products to achieve the highest possible acoustical performance.

There are numerous look-alike products that have a similar appearance, but are lacking in performance. Many of these copies are of much lower density, which keeps costs down, but severely diminish the absorptive performance. This is especially true in mid and low frequencies.

Longevity

We hear many, many horror stories of folks who have gone with ”other” foams only to find little foam ”crumbs” all over their gear – sometimes in a matter of months! Our ”secret recipe” of acoustical foam minimizes this effect. This is highly dependent on the environment in which the panels are in – temperature and moisture changes are the biggest causes of premature ageing. Placing the panels in direct sunlight will also affect them negatively. Nankarrow as been around for over two decades in some installations and it shows no signs of deterioration. ”As good as new!”

Flame Retardancy

You may or may not have read disclaimers on ”other” foams about how they are ”flammable.” We strongly suggest that you take a matchstick or lighter and try to set fire to any acoustic foam you buy! You will find that Nankarrow foams have serious flame retardant properties. Several of our products achieve the highest possible by polymeric acoustical foams – Class A*. The foam will ”self-extinguish” if briefly exposed to a flame.

Aesthetics

Ever been to a studio that used bedding foam for treatment? Looks cheap, doesn’t it? Well, Nankarrow offers a wide range of colors and shapes of acoustical foams to meet almost anyone’s tastes. All designs yield looks that are consistent with state-of-the-art décor and high-class tastes. Please browse through the many installation photos to see just a small sampling of the different ‘looks’ you can get!
