Product Description
The Anti-vibration wall mountings are designed to prevent structural transmission through walls. They are highly recommend to achieve structural stability of double-leaf walls, and at the same time prevent unwanted sound transmission to adjacent rooms. These units are a must when building walls with sizable dimension.
VicVibro RWM1.02 is an insulators on the market with the double insulation function, allowing the absorption of walls bulging and the sound pressure of the inside. It is perfectly designed so that the extension bracket works freely in the compression of the rubber in both directions, assisting its performance in reducing vibrations.
Application: It can be used in various places like Recording studios, Home theaters, Rehearsal rooms, Auditoriums, Cinema halls, Dubbing rooms, Residential areas, Voice Over (VO) Rooms, Ship & Yacht buildings, Commercial places, etc.
Installation:
The first unit should be applied 1.50 m from the floor. The second unit should be applied 3.00 m from the floor. So on and so forth. The last unit should be applied between 10 and 30 cm from the acoustic ceiling. Remember that the installation of the wall mountings should be in a criss-cross sequence.
Vicoustic VicVibro RWM1.02 Features:
- Extremely efficient in the low frequency range
- Provides maximum structural stability
- High performance in reducing vibrations
- Prevents unwanted sound transmission to adjacent rooms.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
The wall mounts should be installed in a criss-cross sequence (like the image on the left shows) to avoid possible coupling frequencies. For example the first wall mount should be installed at 1.70m from the floor, and the next one at 1.50m and so on and so on. The steel studs should be distanced by 60cm.
1. Initial Wall
2. Steel Studs
3. Vicoustic´s VicVibro RWM
4. Vicoustic’s VicVibro WS
5. Vicoustic’s Vicycle
At the top of the steel studs you should apply the wall mounts between 10cm – 30cm from the acoustic roof in a criss-cross sequence too. The upper fixation it is used to reinforce the wall from the acoustic roof.
Do not screw the wall to the acoustic roof. You must avoid rigid connections between the walls and the ceiling to prevent impact noise transmission. The sound insulation increase on the walls, ceiling and floor should always be completely decoupled from each other. If you connect the walls and ceiling with stiff elements such as screws, the elastic elements will be void (insulation), because the elasticity of this element will be null. We strongly recommend applying a rubber strip between the soundproof ceiling and the soundproof walls to guarantee the correct seal, without elasticity loss, avoiding the stiff contact between both parts.
EXAMPLE OF CALCULATION 1:
Let´s consider a soundproof wall made up with the followings materials:
Steel Studs (uprights and channels, 48mm wide, galvanized steel).
Vicoustic´s Vicycle 60 (60kg/m²)
Gypsum board (13mm thickness).
Vicoustic´s ISO Blanket (1950kg/m²)
Gypsum board (15mm thickness).
For example, let´s suppose a wall with a height of 2.65m, and 20m long. It is recommended you install 2 wall mounts on each steel stud. The first unit should be placed between 150cm and 170cm from the ground, and the second one between 10cm and 30cm from the acoustic roof.
Total area of wall = 2.65 x 20 = 53m²
Total weight of sound insulation increase = 53 x 35.4 = 1876.2 kg
Total number of wall mounts on the wall = (20/0.6) x 2 = 66 units
Weight on each wall mount = 1876.2 / 66 = 28.43kg
Let´s suppose we are using Vicoustic´s VicVibro – RWM 1.02. It has an optimum load range between 10–45kg. So we are within the limits!
EXAMPLE OF CALCULATION 2:
Let´s consider a soundproof wall made up with the followings materials:
Steel Studs (uprights and channels, 48mm wide, galvanized steel).
Vicoustic´s Vicycle 60 (60kg/m²).
Gypsum board (15mm thickness).
Vicoustic´s ISO Blanket PRO (1950kg/m²).
Gypsum board (13mm thickness).
Vicoustic´s ISO Blanket (1950kg/m²)
Gypsum board (15mm thickness).
For example, let´s suppose a wall with a height of 1.20m, and 4m long. It is recommended you install only 1 wall mount on each steel stud. The wall mount should be placed between 50cm and 70cm from the floor, again in a criss-cross sequence to avoid possible coupling frequencies.
Total area of wall = 1.20 x 4 = 4.8m²
Total weight of sound insulation increase = 4.8 x 41.3 = 198.24 kg
Total number of wall mounts on the wall = 4/0.6 = 6 units
Weight on each wall mount = 198.24 / 6 = 33.04kg.
Let´s suppose we are using Vicoustic´s VicVibro – RWM 1.02. It has an optimum load range between 10–45kg. So we are within the limits!
FIRE SECURITY
The security has a vital importance. Every wall mount has a security device and in case of fire, the rubber will be destroyed, but not the mounting.
In the event of fire, the rubber will be destroyed, but the mounting will not.
APPLICATION EXAMPLE
The wall mounts should be installed in a criss-cross sequence, as shown in the image.
RESPONSIBILITY AND STANDARDS:
Vicoustic takes full responsibility in the reliability of the acoustic support. We do not take responsibility for the results, because they depend on the people who make the installation.
Vicoustic does not guarantee the reliability of the wall mounts when used for loads above 36 Kg.
All Vicoustic´s wall mounts follow the standard ISO 9001:2008. It specifies the requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to custom.
